You have no doubt been bombarded with umpteen emails about the new Data Protection Regs….. Here at the CHS we promise not to send you too many emails and then they will only be about allotment or Society matters. We also do not pass on your details to third parties (Plot holders – we do pass your name only and plot number to Leeds City Council each year for their records at their request). Here is our “Official Statement”
“CALVERLEY HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
General Data Protection Regulations – How we use your data and communicate with you.
On 25th May 2018 new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) were introduced affecting how CHS should communicate with you. This includes informing you how we hold your information and how we use your personal data.
CHS confirm that the contact information provided by you (address, email and phone number) is collected purely for the purposes of providing horticultural information and administering Society matters. This information may be provided by email or in writing to your address.
In the case of plot holders at Gatescroft Allotments, contact information is used to advise of any matters relating to the allotments and advice received from Leeds City Council (LCC). Only your name and plot number are provided to LCC on an annual basis for their rental records.
Please be assured that we will not give out your personal details to any third party without your permission to do so. However, if you no longer wish to receive information in relation to any CHS or allotment activity then please contact the CHS Secretary, Beverley Smith at email@example.com or in writing to 3 St Wilfrids Street, Calverley, LS28 5RQ.”
